HALIFAX-Kimberly K. Stout, 39, Halifax, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2012 at her home.

Born on October 1, 1972, Kim was a graduate of Carlisle High School (1991) and Central Penn Business School (1993).  She worked at Susquehanna Internal Medicine Associates as a medical assistant.

Kim leaves to lovingly remember her life, Robert E. Stout, her devoted husband of 15 years; the joy of her life, her children, Jessica and Matthew; parents Edward and Carolyn (Zerby) Moyer of Mechanicsburg; sister Jaime Witmer (Roy) of West Hanover Township; as well as nieces and nephews.

Kim devoted her adult life as a volunteer and first responder, serving as an EMT with the Halifax Ambulance Association since 2006; an active volunteer firefighter with the Halifax Fire Department since 1996; Dauphin County Hazmat Technician and Emergency Operations Center Volunteer since 2008; and was an EMT for the former Capital Region EMS from 1992-2005.

Kim embraced life to its fullest.  Her love and compassion for others was extraordinary.  Even though she was dealing with her own cancer, she was always there to help and support family and friends as they too were preparing to say goodbye to their loved ones.  Horses, dogs, gardening and her newest adventure of raising chickens were among her many other joys in life.

The viewing and funeral services will be held at Halifax United Methodist Church, 105 Wind Hill Drive, Halifax, with Pastor Dale Parker officiating.  The viewing will be from 6:00 – 8 p.m., on Thursday, June 28th with a viewing from Noon – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29th.  Services honoring Kim’s life will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Long’s Cemetery, Halifax.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Halifax Fire Department, 22 S. River Road, Halifax, PA  17032; the Halifax Ambulance Association, P. O. Box 459, Halifax, PA  17032; or Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA  17110.

Bob, Jess and Matt,
Although I didn't know Kim very well one thing I did know about her is that she was a devoted, caring and strong lady. Even while she was dealing with her own battle she unselfishly was there for so many others. She touched the lives of so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I worked with Kim for several years at SIMA and she was a wonderful, hardworking woman with a compassion for others that was immeasurable. She was one of the strongest and bravest women I know, fighting the difficult fight, but always there for others. We all can learn a lesson from how she handled this illness with strength and bravery. Please know that you are all in my prayers. I am just glad she is now flying with the angels and will be there to greet us when we join her with our Lord and Savior. God Bless you all.........

Kim and I were born about 2 months apart, our moms were best friends. We've known each other our whole lives. She was a great friend to grow up with as a kid and through all the years. I'll cherish all the memories I have of her. Such an amazing person and friend. She is surely an angel in Heaven as she was on Earth.

Bob, Jess and Matt, I was saddened to hear of Kim's passing when I woke up Monday morning. Kim was an inspiration to everyone she met and touched during her life. She was always there to help others even while she was sick. It was always a treat to see her on the ambulance or the fire ground as I knew I could always joke around with her and see the smile appear on her face. May the memories of her live on with you forever and you are all in my thought's and prayers.

Our condolences are shared with the Stout family, Eddie and Carolyn & Jamie. Although we had limited time with Kimmy she was such a blessing to us to share with. A spirit of life of which all could admire not looking back and only looking ahead to our Lord and Savior. The word of God tells us that when we leave this earth we also leave these bodies behind and become present with Jesus Christ. Without doubt of sharing with Kimmy and reading her writings she is with him now and we can take comfort in this. Our prayers now also extend to each of you during this time of healing.

Dear Bob, Jessica & Matt,

Kim was a hero to me in the way that she perservered through all that she had on her plate with a smile and a positive attitude. She fought hard, and every time I saw her she always had a smile, no matter how rough things were in her life. I am sure that you are all very proud of her for all the accomplishments that she has made in the short time she was on this earth. She touched very many peoples lives with everything she did!

She was a wonderful person and I am so glad that I had a chance to know her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and we are here if you need anything.

Love yas,
Christy, Austin and Kami

Words can't express my saddness and sympathy to the Stout family upon hearing of Kim's passing. She was such a strong and loving woman through everything and was always there for others. My first memories of Kim and Bob were at HFD taking me under their wing and into their home as a new member. They always made you feel like family and welcome regardless of what was going on in their lives. Kim and Bob's love for helping others was so contagious they talked me into taking EMT class. I never would have made it through without Kim and her family. But I also came to love helping others and could never thank them enough for sharing that with me. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. Love Megon and Marcus Riddell

Sierra and I send our loving thoughts and support to you of your wife and mother. Kim was a wonderful, loving person who will be missed by all. I''m so glad I got to know all of you better through softball. I won''t forget how she and/or Bob would be at a game (keeping the book I might add) and off goes the scanner...guess you know how that story ends... :) Kim leaves behind an awesome legacy! I will always remember her smile and willingness to help in any capacity! Loving thoughts, Sierra and Chantel
